Doorto door shipping refers to a shipping method in which the goods are transported from the sender’s door to the recipient’s door. Incoterms (International Commercial Terms) are a set of standardized terms and definitions used in international trade to clarify the roles and responsibilities of the buyer and seller regarding the delivery of goods.

There are several Incoterms that are commonly used for door-to-door shipping, including:

  • DAP (Delivered at Place): Under this term, the seller is responsible for delivering the goods to a specified place, such as the recipient’s warehouse or factory. The buyer is responsible for paying the transportation costs and any customs duties or taxes.
  • DDP (Delivered Duty Paid): Under this term, the seller is responsible for delivering the goods to the recipient’s door and paying all transportation costs and customs duties or taxes.
  • DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid): Under this term, the seller is responsible for delivering the goods to the recipient’s door, but the buyer is responsible for paying any customs duties or taxes.
  • EXW (Ex Works): Under this term, the seller is responsible for making the goods available at their place of business. The buyer is responsible for all transportation costs and customs duties or taxes.

It is important to carefully consider which Incoterm is most appropriate for a given transaction, as each term has different implications for the responsibilities and costs of the buyer and seller.

There are so many things that you need to consider before you decide to ship items to Malaysia. The main thing that you should consider is the type of shipment that you are planning to make. Do you want to ship via air, sea or road or a combination of them? Each mode has its own advantages and disadvantages. If you are shipping by air, you will get your shipment faster. However, the cost of shipping by air is higher than the other shipping methods.

On the other hand, the cost of shipping by sea is lower than the other two options. If you are shipping by sea, you will have to take into consideration the port charges. You will also have to pay for the insurance, which is usually included in the price of shipping. If you are going to ship by land, you will have to take into consideration the transport costs, which are usually lower than air but higher than sea.

Besides choosing the mode of transportation based on your needs, another very important consideration is the commodity or product to be shipped for customs handling and clearance purposes. Most suppliers should be able to provide the product HS code, or Harmonized System (HS) code which is an internationally standardized system of names and numbers for classifying goods in international trade. The HS code is used by customs authorities around the world to assess tariffs and taxes on imported goods and to determine the rules and regulations that apply to those goods. It is also used by trade organizations and businesses to track and record the movement of goods across national borders.
