The shipping industry has paid the price for successive governments neglecting Britain's shipping sector for too long. This investment in the need to move goods across the continent will be a major factor in the growth of the UK shipping industry.


The United Kingdom is the largest port in Europe. Our relationship with the continent is based on providing a level of infrastructure that allows European businesses to use Britain as an export hub.

Under the right deal for Britain, the EU will build a competitive and attractive freight sector. This is in the national interest and will enable Britain to continue to build strong relationships with key European trading partners, delivering the benefits of Brexit to all British citizens.
